But far fewer have actually tested how their board and executive team would respond under the pressure of a real crisis.
One of the great benefits of simulation exercises is that they reveal things that policies and plans rarely do:
• Unclear or absent escalation pathways
• Decision hesitancy and bottlenecks
• Governance blind spots and inadequacies
• Misalignment between directors and executives
A well-designed and run simulation event isn’t about “passing or failing”.
It’s about giving leadership teams a safe environment to test decision making and plans before a real crisis occurs.
